"We are family...I got my sister with me"

Not much has been going on around here lately. We did go to a birthday party last weekend and Julia had to borrow a bathing suit (the matching Mermaid suit with Leah) The kids had a blast but as for most kids parties when you try to take 2 kids out in the heat by the end I was tired, hot, and hungry. We are just getting ready for our trip to Memphis in less then 2 weeks to meet Ansley Miller and baby Given fondly known as Annie Ethel. Other then that our summer is winding down and we are eager to get the school year started. Julia is soo excited to go back to her preschool. Maggie is doing great just getting bigger everyday. That is all for now. Have a great weekend.

side note: notice the title of book Julia is "reading" to Maggie. "How to Con your Kid" she loves this book because it had a rubber duck on the front and she is pretending to read it to her like her teacher does at school. Cracks me up!!
Also I posed Julia sitting on the fence behind our house because the flowers/weeds were really tall and it made a good backdrop.

The Lazy Days of Summer

Sorry to leave you hanging with no post but things just settled around here. We had a 4th of July cookout and had some of Wyatt's work friends over and neighbors to enjoy a taste of southern food. It went great and everyone ate alot. The kids played and had a great time. On Sunday we met Russell, Callie and Amanda in Cincinnati and they got to see Maggie for the first time. We had a fun but quick visit for dinner. Julia did not know who we were going to see and she beamed and jumped with excitement when she saw her Uncle Russell. This all happened on the same day as Mike and Liz going into labor and checking into the hospital to have their baby.

Ansley Chase Miller was born on Monday morning weighing in at 5lbs 2 oz and 19 inches long and I cannot wait to get to Memphis and meet her. They went home Wednesday and mother and baby are doing well.

(the syrup is so I could see how small she is)

Grandmama and Granddaddy also sent Julia a whale pool just like the one they had at their house and we got it out yesterday and she loved it. Maggie is eating baby food now and she LOVES sweet taters!! She is also sleeping ALL night now and has been for a few weeks. She is doing great. Julia played dress up last night before bed and the high heels are on the wrong feet (which I loved because it just makes the outfit). She loved posing and then looking at the pictures. We will be visiting a "Little Gym" class on Tuesday. Julia will get to have tap, ballet, and gymnastics all in one hour so we will see how she likes it. The little girl at the cookout, Leah goes and gets to bring a friend on Tuesday night. We can't wait.

Summer Vacation at Grandmama and Granddaddy's

We are back safe and sound from our week in Hattiesburg. Pictures are to follow in installments since I took over 90 pics while we were there. We had a blast just hanging out by the pool and spending time with family. Julia did not want to miss a minute of Grandmama's and Granddaddy's house so she woke us up at 5 am almost every morning we were there (2 hours earlier then normal). She spent most of her time running and playing outside. From the blow up whale pool she named "squirty" to picking blueberries right off the bush and watching baby birds in nest that had just hatched. When she was not outside she was inside cooking with Grandmama playing with toys or feeding Slick (Lynn's classroom pet an 8 year old frog). She stayed busy the whole time. We also had some of Wyatt's cousin's children come for a pool party. Julia loved playing with her "sister cousins" (she stared calling then this before they came). We had a house full of 5 girls total from ages 8 and under and they had a ball! Julia also had a special treat and got to go to a tea party with me and Grandmama. We went one afternoon to a tea room for tea and deserts. We played dress up and had a nice outing (for the big girls only). Maggie was just as happy to stay at home with her buddy Granddaddy. Those 2 grew very fond of each other over our visit. Granddaddy did diapers, feeding, naps, ect... We figured out that she likes to nap on their bed between the two pillows and he could get her to sleep like a champ.
We also had Wyatt's birthday while we were there and Julia was so excited you would have thought it was her party. That is all for now. I will be adding more pics in the next few days. I just did not want to overwhem you with all of them at once so more to come.....

Maggie Video

Maggie is really trying to suck her thumb and here is some footage of her talking and working on the thumb.

Happy Father's Day!!

We had a CRAZY weekend as usual it was hectic but fun. Saturday we went to a street festival in a town about an hour from us. Lots of cute little shops on the square and food vendors. They had live music all day and we even got to see some belly dancers perform (a first for me). That was interesting and Julia thought it was great. She danced at the band and saw some puppies. She also pulled the usual and had to potty when we were about 3 blocks from a public restroom and while we were sitting down eating lunch (it never fails). Just a side note she was terrified of the big blue puppet guy in the pictures and screamed hysterically while I pushed the stroller by him. Wyatt and Jules also harvested the first tomato off of their plant. As you can see she is a proud little farmer. It took some convincing to let it stay in the window for one day to ripen and then yesterday they enjoyed the crop. Julia is also doing vacation Bible school at a church we have been visiting. It is all this week at night 6:30-8:30. Last night was the first night and so far so good. They have an "Amazon" theme. All of the age groups are different jungle animals. How fitting that the 3 year old are the "sloths". What is even funnier is that Julia knows what that is and she was so excited when she found out she was going to be a purple sloth for the week. Maggie had her 4 month appt last week and she weighed in at 14 pounds and it doing great. We have attempted cereal a few times but she is still learning so she is not quite a pro yet. We are preparing for our trip to Hattiesburg on Friday. We cannot wait to see everyone!!

School's Out for the Summer!!

We have had a busy week. Julia's end of the year school picnic was Tuesday at the park. We brought a lunch and she had blast playing with her school friends. I posted some pics of her with her friends Gracie and Jack and of coarse her teacher Mrs. Donahue. Wednesday was rainy ALL day so we stayed inside until after 6 where you can see that Julia slipped out to the deck in her panties to make footprints in the water puddles. Gotta love that Mississippi coming out in her. Thursday we went back to the park to get out the house and while we were there she asked to take her shirt off so she could play in the sandbox. (some boys were shirtless in swim trunks from the town pool next to the park) I then had to explain to her that little girls did not take their shirts off like boys do. She is really into the "why...why?" thing right now that is always fun. This morning we went to our neighbors yard to play he is 15 months and Julia loves him. His name is baby Danny. They played in the sand and water table and the BIG bouncer until we got too hot.

Maggie is doing great. She is now in her crib and sleeping almost through the night. It is going by way too fast for me. Summer is in full swing and we can't wait to visit Hattiesburg in a few weeks and Memphis in August. Have a great weekend!!
