Christmas in Memphis

Wyatt, Julia, and I spent Christmas in Memphis this year and it was very eventful. Julia and I flew into Nashville and Mimi and Pop surprised us with a trip to the Opryland Hotel to see it all done up for the holidays. It was a lot of fun!! After being in town about 48 hours Julia got an early Christmas present in the form of the stomach bug. Ughhh.... She then passed it to me, Elizabeth, Jeremy, Pop, and some other members of our extended family. Wyatt was lucky enough to fight it off by sleeping for 20 hours in one day (that is why he is absent in some of the pics). Everyone at our house was pretty much well by Christmas and we all had a wonderful time. We were able to see most of our friends before heading back up north to the freezing weather. We had a low key new years just trying to stay warm and watching the Bulldogs win the Liberty Bowl!! Now we just need LSU to pull out a win tomorrow night over OSU!!

Elizabeth is here now for her first visit to Columbus and we have been showing her the sights and doing some post Christmas shopping. We are now in full swing baby mode and can't wait to meet our new little one next month. Mimi, Grandmama, and Granddaddy have all made travel plans to be here to help out and I am soo glad. I will keep everyone updated on the baby news when I know more.

SNOW!!!

Well it is here. Our first snow of winter in Columbus. Julia is so happy!! She cried like she was getting a shot when I told her she had to put on her snow boots and then once she was out there she did not want to come back in. Right now I am letting her dry out and she is already begging to go back outside to eat snow. She said "it taste like ice cream."

We also ventured to the Sesame Street Live show the Sunday after Thanksgiving. As you can see from the pics we sat VERY close to the stage. I did not have to zoom very much to get the pics. She had a great time and we got suckered into buying an $8 Elmo balloon. They get you every time.

Julia is now very into Christmas music and singing about Santa Clause coming to town. We have yet to sit on his lap at the mall but we are pumping her up for that and hopefully I will not have to be in the picture again this year. She is not quite ready so we are still talking about it. We are very excited about coming to Memphis for Christmas and can't wait to see everyone.

Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving came and went way too fast.

"Grandmamma and Granddaddy" (Wyatt's parents) came up for the first time to visit. We had a ball. Julia loves to jump on Granddaddy anytime his eyes close and he looks like he might be going to sleep. No naps while Julia is awake. She also kept Grandmamma VERY busy playing in the basement singing songs and outside on the swing set. I don't know who wore who out more....Julia is still asking for them when she wakes up.We went to the Columbus Zoo (really nice) and did the Zoo Lights display. Julia decorated and ate a Christmas cookie with Mrs. Clause. They also had a HUGE miniature train display set up that was really cool. I cooked a full on Thanksgiving feast for the first time and there were no major disasters so it went off pretty well.

We also went on Friday to cut our own Christmas tree at a local tree farm not far from our house. They had live animals (a donkey and a sheep) that Julia got to see. They provided us with a sled and a saw and sent us on our way to search for the perfect tree. It was alot of fun. We had a great week. It is always good to be reminded how much we have to be thankful for.

Julia ~ 2 months old

This week has been very eventful up here in Ohio this week. Julia is at a "Parents Day Out" today for 4 hours at a small Methodist Church not far from the house. I hope all goes well when I pick her up and if so she will start preschool there in January. She was VERY excited to start her new school this morning. My doctor's appt this week went great! I passed all my tests and got my flu shot. On to more exciting things......Wyatt is going to be attending his first Ohio State Football game on Saturday with a co-worker. It is the last home game and I think they will be tailgating and all that fun stuff. We are one step closer to losing him to the BIG 10.

Outside Fun

Halloween Fun

Last night Julia had soo much fun!! She went trick-or-treating and got lots of candy. Her "Autumn Witch" costume was a big hit around the neighborhood. She also loved looking at all the other kids in their outfits. Of coarse her favorite was a boy dressed as Spiderman that she is still talking about. She had a ball and went to bed early. I am sharing some pictures from the Halloween festivities around our house this week and some from Julia playing outside on her swing set this morning. Enjoy!!
